Developing Sound Study Habits

The most important factor to achieve good marks is effective studying. Learning can bring a lot of satisfaction; however, studying usually requires hard work. There are three steps to acquire effective learning. The first step is one should set up a schedule to ensure one has enough time for studying. It is important to divide exact time to study and check your time. In order to keep up your concentration level, you need to take breaks. Writing your schedule down is also important to have a regular study routine. Before starting studying. One should set up one's learning for goals and objectives. People have tendency of delaying big tasks. According to Alan (1996), " many of us tend to tackle simple, routine tasks first, saving lager tasks for later. " The tendency to delay major assignments affects learning negatively. The second step is to find a quiet place to study where one can concentrate. Most llearners can not concentrate when there is noise around, so one should avoid places that can disrupt one's attention and focus. The third step is to reward one's studying once it is completed. Rewards can stimulate one's motivation to learn. One can reward oneself in different ways such as snacking, watching a TV show or calling a friend.
